With our aim to reach out to the whole Parish, we hold different types of services throughout the month, standard Holy Communion (1st and 3rd Sunday’s); Family / Parade (2nd Sunday’s); All Age Communion (4th Sunday’s).
Family / Parade:
The Family / Parade service is where our uniformed groups take an active roll throughout the service. They also present their flags and parade alongside the Union Flag at the beginning and end of each service. The language used within this service is aimed more towards the younger members of our congregation. The weeks readings are read by members of the uniformed groups.
All Age Communion:
Our All Age Communion services also follow the standard Church of England Common Worship patterns of the Order 1 service. We choose different parts of the worship material to better aim the wording towards our younger members of the congregation. We include hymns and songs that our Youth Church learn while the are in Sunday School on the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month, alongside the more traditional hymns that are sung at other times. As it is a Holy Communion service with the sacrament (bread and wine), the children are involved with presenting the sacrament to the Lords’ Table in addition to the children reading the weeks reading from the lectern at the front of the Church.
